Planning Commission
The Barnesville Planning Commission acts as advisors to the City Council on the future physical development of the city. The Commission conducts studies and investigations and makes reports and recommendations on matters affecting zoning, platting and public information.
Meeting Dates & Times
Planning and zoning meets the first Monday of the month at 6:30 pm in the city council chambers. Special meetings and public hearings are called for from time-to-time and are posted on the City Hall bulletin board.

Comprehensive Plan
In November 2017, the City Council adopted an updated version of the Barnesville Comprehensive Plan. The purpose of this document is to create a vision for the community and to aid in the decision making of Barnesville’s elected officials. Zoning Ordinance

Conditional Uses & Variances
Conditional uses and variances both require a process that includes a public hearing. If either of these uses is contemplated ample time should be allowed to obtain the permit or variance. The city will make every attempt to expedite the process within the constraints of the ordinance.
