Medical Services
One of the things that separates Barnesville from many small communities of our size is the wide variety of quality healthcare options.
Lake Region Healthcare – Barnesville Area Clinic
The Barnesville Area Clinic is a full-service outreach facility that joined Lake Region Healthcare in 2014. When the Barnesville Area Clinic was established by community leaders in the late 1970’s, it was to ensure the community had hometown access to a quality, robust primary care clinic. Dr. Owen Thompson purchased the clinic in 1992 and in 2014 chose to join LRH to ensure that this mission continues to be met. Dr. Owen Thompson, continues to practice at the clinic along with Sunnah Doesken, MD and Katie Martin, FNP. Our focus is on primary care and wellness, treating both acute and chronic illness. Same-day appointments are often available. Unlike many small clinics, the BAC has a full-service laboratory. This allows the BAC providers to more quickly and completely evaluate your needs and minimize waiting for test results to return from outside laboratories. The BAC also has an x-ray department that is equipped to perform routine diagnostic x-rays of any part of the body, head to toe. The x-rays are first read by the BAC provider and then again by LRH radiologists who are specialized in reading x-rays of all types. In addition to lab and x-ray, the BAC offers many other tests to assist the providers in providing the care you and your family need. On a regular basis, the BAC has visiting specialists in the area of general surgery, orthopedics, and diabetes education. The specialists travel from the main campus in Fergus Falls so you can have access to their expertise without leaving town.
