Annual Events & Year-Round Happenings
Barnesville offers a vibrant calendar of community events, family fun, seasonal celebrations, and local traditions that bring residents and visitors together throughout the year. From long-standing festivals to weekly gatherings and seasonal activities, there’s always something happening in our welcoming city.
Each summer, the community comes alive with the Clay County Fair, a classic agricultural celebration featuring livestock shows, rides, food vendors, exhibits, and entertainment for all ages. In August, the beloved Potato Days Festival honors Barnesville’s rich potato-growing heritage with two full days of spirited contests, parades, food, arts and crafts, and live music, a highlight of the year that draws crowds from across the region.
Barnesville’s calendar also features seasonal traditions like spring carnivals and bazaars, summer block parties and picnics, fall harvest celebrations and rummage sales, and festive winter programs including holiday shows and candlelight services. Many of these are organized by local churches, clubs, and community groups, reflecting the strong civic spirit that defines our town.
