On Saturday October 27th, from 10:00am-2:00pm, the Barnesville Police Department will be participating in National Prescription Take Back Day. During this time, the BPD will have an officer at the office specifically to assist you in dropping off unwanted or unused prescription medications.
The opioid epidemic has hit The Red River Valley hard, and we continue to lose too many people to opioid abuse. The BPD is strengthening its resolve to see that this epidemic is curbed and our wonderful citizenry is unaffected by it. Part of that plan is encouraging Barnesville citizens (and those in the area) to safely and properly dispose of medications that are no longer needed to limit the opportunities for those medications to be misused or diverted.
Join us in fighting this epidemic, bring in your medications for safe drop off, and encourage others to do the same. Our officers look forward to seeing you Saturday!
