BARNESVILLE MEDICAL SERVICES

The Barnesville Area Clinic is part of the Heartland Independent Provider Network (which consists of many independent providers in the F-M and surrounding areas as well as Dakota Heartland Hospital). The network (HIPN) was primarily formed to satisfy requirements set forth by certain managed care insurance plans to allow the HIPN member to provide services to those people enrolled in the managed care plan. BAC joined HIPN because WE CARE and wanted to be able to care for you.

Also, in attempt to give you the best care possible, BAC has visiting specialists from the F-M area, most of whom are also a part of the Heartland Independent Provider Network.

At present, the visiting specialists are:

• Dr. Timothy Mahoney, General Surgeon
• Dr. Steven Strinden, Urologist
• Dr. Mark Lundeen, Orthopedic Surgeon
• Ron Odden, Licensed Psychologist

In-house Diagnostic Testing
Unlike many small clinics, the Barnesville Area Clinic has a full service laboratory. Dr. Thompson has chosen to make a considerable investment to acquire the latest technologies in office laboratory testing. This allows the BAC providers to more quickly and completely evaluate a patient's needs and minimize waiting for test results from outside reference laboratories.

X-Ray
Our x-ray department is equipped to perform routine diagnostic x-rays of any part of the body, head to toe. Tthe x-rays taken at BAC are read first by your BAC provider and then again by INDEPENDENT RADIOLOGY, a group of radiologists specialized in reading x-rays of all types.

Additional Diagnostic Tools
BAC also is equipped to perform other testing including EKGs, holter monitoring, pulmonary function testing, vision and hearing screening, oxygen saturation testing, as well as many other tests.

We also perform echocardiographic evaluations of the heart at BAC on a regular basis. This testing is done by a technician from the Minneapolis Heart Institute and the test is then interpreted by a cardiologist from the Minneapolis Heart Institute.
