SIRENS TO SOUND THIS THURSDAY AS PART OF SEVERE WEATHER AWARENESS WEEK

The National Weather Service, in cooperation with the Minnesota Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and other state, county and local agencies have come together to host Severe Weather Awareness Week activities. On Thursday April 16, 2015 simulated tornado warnings will be issued to test the statewide warning and communications systems. Clay County will be participating in the first drill at 1:45 p.m. unless actual severe weather is expected. A second drill will occur at 6:55 pm. Emergency sirens in Barnesville will sound at these times. We would encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to practice with your family the steps to take in the event of an actual tornado warning this summer.
